A little back story... Five years ago, in the early days of Sabah, I solo-traveled to various cities with a suitcase of Sabahs. During one of these trips, I booked an Airbnb in Charleston to host a pop-up -- the home I rented happened to be owned by Kate & Ben, the founders of Basic Projects, a design and development consultancy which was just getting off the ground. Over Palomas and conversation, we became fast friends.
Four years, a few Sabahs and an enduring friendship later, we're back in Charleston with Kate & Ben, this time at their newest project Basic Kitchen (a restaurant + courtyard in the heart of downtown Charleston) for a Basic Projects reunion and residency, opening our first-ever "Shoe Shop in a Garden" during Food + Wine festival from Thursday, 3/7 to Monday, 3/11, open hours daily from 11AM-6PM.
To kick off our March residency in Charleston, we are co-hosting an opening party aka Sabah Social on Thursday, 3/7 5PM-7PM with live acoustic jazz by guitarist Lee Barbour, handcrafted, herb-infused cocktails featuring Gracias a Dios Mezcal and delicious bites by Basic Kitchen. We will welcome friends old and new to mix, mingle and try on Sabah's core and resort collections including a range of calf hair slides & classic camel Sabahs with accented trim as well as a preview of an upcoming, not-yet released Sabah shoe collaboration with Basic Projects.
