We were only able to craft a very limited amount of these one-of-a-kind Sabahs: 6 pairs to be exact. Each one made from a vintage Suzani textile that we handpicked from Istanbul's Grand Bazaar. A Suzani is a traditionally hand-embroidered textile panel, originating from Central Asia’s textile-rich, nomadic cultures. They're vibrant, colorful, and feature intricate motifs and patterns, often with deep meaning and symbolism.  It's important to note that the images on this page are representative but not exact to what you'll receive: there are subtle variations in color, pattern, and placement. No two pairs identical, just like no two Suzanis are identical -- that's the beauty of this special project. Enjoy!

Hand Selected at Istanbul's Grand Bazaar.

Suzani textiles originated in Central Asia, along the Silk Road. The name comes from the Persian word, suzanikari, which translates to ‘needlework’… as the defining feature of a Suzani textile is the intricate embroidery. They are typically composed of a cotton (sometimes silk) fabric base, which is then covered with small stitches that circle in on themselves until the entire motif is filled in with vibrant colors. Traditionally, Suzanis were laboriously created, and passed down, by grandmothers, mothers, and daughters, for weddings — believed to bring happiness, protection and prosperity into married life.
